What Does The Experience Include?

The Remutaka Lookout ride is an approximately 90-minute, 100km McLaren 570S passenger experience on real Wellington roads. This longer route gives you time to properly settle into the car, enjoy its performance and soundtrack, and experience a much broader range of roads and scenery than our shorter experiences.

🚀 Feel The Acceleration

With much more road time, this route gives us several suitable opportunities to experience the McLaren's acceleration, including acceleration up towards 100 km/h where conditions and road rules allow.

🔊 Hear The McLaren

The longer route gives you far more opportunity to hear the 570S's MSO Titanium Exhaust under load and enjoy the soundtrack across changing road sections, open stretches and different driving environments.

🏁 Passenger Experience

You ride in the passenger seat while one of our experienced XtremeX drivers takes care of the driving, so you can simply enjoy the car.

📸 Time For Photos

We allow a few extra minutes around your experience so you can get photos with the McLaren before or after your ride.

Typical Remutaka Lookout Route: Outlet City, Tawa → SH1 → Remutaka Lookout → Haywards Hill Road → Transmission Gully → Tawa. Routes may vary depending on traffic, road conditions and operational requirements. All XtremeX experiences take place on public roads and comply with New Zealand road rules.

 Verified What a blast! What a fantastic passenger experience! The power of the McLaren MP4 was even greater than I expected, and Darren was able to demonstrate the incredible acceleration and handling while keeping within the law. The booking process was easy, Darren's communication was faultless and I enjoyed talking with him throughout the experience.  Verified A fun (legal) drive on the motorway The car has phenomenal acceleration. Three seconds to 100km/hr pushes you back into your seat. It doesn't get boring doing that several times. With the rear window open you get a fantastic soundtrack from the engine. Darren has a passion for exotic cars and shares it well. He winds the windows down when going through a tunnel and revs!  Verified 621 reasons to return! If you are in Wellington for a bit, I highly recommend putting XtremeX on your must do list. We just had another excellent experience with Darren - we did the Lambo last time, and this time the McLaren. The 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine sounds awesome and 621 BHP taking you from 0–100KPH in just 3.0 seconds is unreal! Darren shares so much - time, knowledge and experience, it is so much more than a ride in a supercar. Sometimes the world gets weird and you just need to take a moment and do something that makes you happy...this is a fantastic way to do it. The recipient is still smiling!  Verified Incredible experience What an incredible experience! Gave as a gift to my 7 year old son for his birthday and he absolutely LOVED it! Hasn't stopped talking about it all day, was a memory that will stay with him for life I think. Darren is great, communication was top notch both before and during the experience.
