What Does The Experience Include?

The Mini Sprint is a 5-minute, approximately 6km McLaren MP4-12C passenger experience on real Wellington roads. It was introduced as a more affordable, more accessible option, especially for younger guests, while still giving you a genuine taste of the 12C's acceleration, sound and character.

Even on this shorter route, there are still suitable opportunities to experience the 12C's clean, progressive acceleration where conditions and road rules allow.

This route still gives you a fun taste of the 12C's twin-turbo V8 and the sense of occasion that makes a McLaren passenger experience so special.

🏁 Passenger Experience

You ride in the passenger seat while one of our experienced XtremeX drivers takes care of the driving. This experience is especially suited to ages 8 years (125cm) through to 12 years of age.

📸 Time For Photos

We allow a few extra minutes around your experience so you can get photos with the McLaren before or after your ride.

Typical Mini Sprint Route: Outlet City, Tawa → Churton Park On-Ramp → Middleton Rd → Outlet City, Tawa. Routes may vary depending on traffic, road conditions and operational requirements. All XtremeX experiences take place on public roads and comply with New Zealand road rules.

 Verified Birthday present I booked the 30 minute super car experience for my brother for his birthday. My brother is a huge car enthusiast and Darren was brilliant!! The power of the McLaren MP4 was even greater than I expected, and Darren was able to demonstrate the incredible acceleration and handling while keeping within the law.  Verified A fun (legal) drive on the motorway The car has phenomenal acceleration. Three seconds to 100km/hr pushes you back into your seat. It doesn't get boring doing that several times. With the rear window open you get a fantastic soundtrack from the engine. Darren has a passion for exotic cars and shares it well. He winds the windows down when going through a tunnel and revs!  Verified 621 reasons to return! If you are in Wellington for a bit, I highly recommend putting XtremeX on your must do list. We just had another excellent experience with Darren - we did the Lambo last time, and this time the McLaren. The 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine sounds awesome and 621 BHP taking you from 0–100KPH in just 3.0 seconds is unreal! Darren shares so much - time, knowledge and experience, it is so much more than a ride in a supercar. Sometimes the world gets weird and you just need to take a moment and do something that makes you happy...this is a fantastic way to do it. The recipient is still smiling!  Verified Incredible experience What an incredible experience! Gave as a gift to my 7 year old son for his birthday and he absolutely LOVED it! Hasn't stopped talking about it all day, was a memory that will stay with him for life I think. Darren is great, communication was top notch both before and during the experience.
